HIDROPROJECTO has implemented, since 1997, a Quality Policy, according to the dispositions of the Standards of ISO 9000 Series. This Policy is supported by: the management of the Company’s resources, its Personnel’s skills and motivation, the follow up and update of accurate and formalised internal procedures and the rigorous respect of legal obligations and principles fixed in the Code of Professional Ethics of the Company.

Within the scope referred above, HIDROPROJECTO sent to Associação Portuguesa de Certificação (APCER), on May 1998, its Candidature concerning the Certification of its dominant activities, according to NP EN ISO 9001.

Therefore, and following the audit done by APCER, in August, it was granted to HIDROPROJECTO, on the 6th of November 1998, the Certification concerning its activities, in accordance with the Standard NP EN ISO 9001:1995 and to which corresponds the number 98/CEP.777. This Certification is for the scope of provision of services of Consultancy and Engineering.

In December 1999, HIDROPROJECTO obtained the extension of that Certification for the other current activities of the Company. Consequently, it was issued a new Certificate, dated the 23rd of December, which certifies the Company for the following fields of activities: “Provision of services of Management, Coordination, Technical Counseling, Dupervision of Contract Jobs, Consultancy and Engineering in the fields of Land Use Planning, Water Resources, Hydraulic and Hydroagricultural Developments, Urban and Industrial Hydraulics, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste Management, Environmental Impact Studies, Estuarine and Coastal Systems, Geotechnics, Structures and Equipment”.

Following the renewal / transition audit done by APCER in October 2001, it was issued the update version of that Certificate, in conformity with the dispositions of NP EN ISO 9001:2000.

The recent restructure of the Company’s organization lead to the reformulation of the framework of the Certification, now described as “Activities of expertise of the strategic business units: environment and quality of life; development and special products; engineering and general infrastructure; management and quality of construction; analytical laboratory”.
